Counseling by Peter Hannah MA
About Me

My name is Peter Hannah, and I'm a psychotherapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I take pride in my unique combination of professional training, personal skills, and life experience.

Before I became a therapist, I lived in Westchester County, New York (where I grew up) and had a career in technology, earning a Masters degree in Telecommunications from Pace University. I moved to Seattle in 1999 to change my life and ultimately, my career. In 2002 I received my Masters in Applied Behavioral Science/Systems Counseling from Bastyr University's Leadership Institute of Seattle (LIOS).

Since then, I've been in private practice, and have also facilitated personal development classes for Discover U, Center for Spiritual Living, and The Excellence Foundation (formerly Context Associated). My work on "The Seattle Freeze" and other issues has been featured on Q13 and KOMO4 TV news, and KOMO radio. I've appeared as a guest on the Dave Ross Show on KIRO radio as well as KUOW's "The Conversation". While I tend to work mostly with healthy, high-functioning people, I also have familiarity with serious mental illness from a stint at Fairfax Psychiatric Hospital.

I've experienced the pressures of the high-tech world, layoffs, moves, being away from family, office politics, career change, infertility, and many of the other stressors that can make modern life feel hard. I'm married and in my early 40s, and I know both the joys and challenges of marriage. I have created a good life here in Seattle with friends, sports, hobbies and a spiritual life. I'm pleased to bring all of that into my work with you. I offer therapy tailored to your goals and your personality.
