Sometimes the person who can best help you is a person who has been in the same situation themselves – who has had the experiences, knows the territory and language – in short, a person who can relate.
For that reason, many Seattle people who work in IT and high-tech jobs pick me to be their counselor. Before I changed careers, I was in high-tech for over a decade (you can see the list of companies and job types below), including working for IBM, a nationwide utility company, a “dot-bomb” (back in 2000), and as an independent consultant. I have a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, and a Masters degree in Telecommunications. I’ve had job titles including network analyst, systems engineer, webmaster and functional analyst.
I help clients with issues such as:
- Office Politics
- Career Path
- Deciding Whether to Leave a Company
- Changing Careers
- Dealing with Layoffs/Finding a New Job
- Work/Life Balance
- Working with Difficult Co-Workers
