I offer both in-person sessions from my Lake Union Seattle office, as well as telehealth counseling sessions, conducted via Zoom.

Typically, people already know which one they would prefer. I am happy to do either.

For the 1/2 to 2/3 of my clients that I see in-person, having the physical space and distance away from their lives is an important part of being able to relax into therapy. There is total privacy and confidentiality (no family members or co-workers to overhear us), and no distractions which might be present at home or at work. I do believe having this “container”, as we therapists like to call it, can lend to an easier time sinking into feelings and maintaining our focus on the task at hand.

Many clients do, though, prefer telehealth counseling, which I do via Zoom video. Zoom is the easiest, most reliable technology I have found for working. People choose telehealth because of immunity issues, accessibility, distance from my office, or the need to be home for kids or other family members. Telehealth can work quite well, though issues of privacy (others hearing you speak) can be as issue, and poor Internet connectivity can result in a laggy feed or missing words – which isn’t great. You are responsible for the privacy and Internet connection on your side, of course.

When booking a session with me – you can let me know which you prefer, or choose the appropriate session type if you self-schedule.

Again, I am happy to do either in-person or telehealth with you. Choose the one you wish.
